This is the finale of season three of pitchin’ and sippin’. And this past season has been so monumental for me in more ways than one. First, the fact that I’ve even recorded 70 episodes is something that I’m proud of the fact that people have tuned in and listened to those episodes, blows my mind even more. If you’ve been with me from the beginning. Bless you. If you’re new here, welcome. I truly, truly do hope that this show has been as valuable to you as I intended it to be. The other thing that has been crazy listening back to the season is that when I batch recorded the majority of the last 15 episodes or so, you know, probably more actually, I was very pregnant. And it’s something that I mentioned quite a lot in the show. However, at the day of me recording this episode, I am officially a mother and have a beautiful and healthy baby girl. Her name is Ashlynn Everly Smith, and she is seven weeks old today. My life has been flipped completely upside down. If you’re a parent, you understand. But truly, I have never been more happy, terrified, overwhelmed, anxious, tired and over the moon in love in my entire life. birthing a human baby has brought up a lot of catchy metaphors for me to reflect upon for the birthing of my two businesses, the PR bar Inc, which you guys probably know about already, and ReadySet coach, and the birth of this podcast. Throughout all of these experiences, I too have had highs and lows and well not entirely the same. They have been profound and life changing in the less. So as I thought about what I wanted to talk about in this final minisode of season three, I landed on reflections, specifically what it takes to grow, to grow a business, a human grow as a person you name it. This episode by no means is all encompassing. This is a mini sewed after all, but I hope somewhere in these nuggets. Each and every one of you listening find something that resonates. If not have a glass of wine and read listen and I promise you I will sound even more profound. Okay, bad jokes aside reflection…

Number one, growth is uncomfortable. This is likely not a new concept for you to hear. But what it might be today is a reminder. No matter what season of life you are in, whether you to our new mother, whether you’re just starting a new career, launching a company you know trying to grow a client campaign are working to grow as a human being alone or within a relationship. Growth is uncomfortable period. It is messy. There are highs, there are lows, you will mess up, you will have winds and everything in between. Whatever moment you’re in, just remember this is normal. This is part of life. And greatness doesn’t come or live in our comfort zones. Reflection to it’s not only okay to ask for help, it’s wise. No one has all the answers and no one can do everything flawlessly. If growth is what you are after, push your ego aside. Ask for help. And or at the very least except it if offered. This is a lesson I had a lot of moms prep me for with my newborn. They said when baby arrives and someone asks if you Need anything? Say yes and let them help you. You will need it and holy crap, where are they right? Even having someone hold my daughter for 20 minutes so I can shower is a godsend right now, for business. If marketing isn’t your natural area of expertise, that is okay. Find someone who is good at marketing, whether it be a friend, hire an agency, a coach and ask for help, you are not weak or less than for asking. You’re instead really frickin smart in my book and will likely grow a whole lot quicker than those who are going at it alone. Reflection number three, you can’t pour from an empty cup. Without your health, you have nothing. If I don’t have my health, I can’t tend to my daughter, my clients, my business, my relationship nothing. When life gets busy, which seems like 24/7 It is so easy to neglect our basic bodily human needs, right sleep, water nutrition me time. There can be pressure from self to do better and from others, others mean society to a partner, a client or otherwise, if growth is what you desire, then make sure you are taking care of number one, guess what? Number one is you okay and make sure you are taking care of you first. If you aren’t fully healthy, you aren’t performing optimally.

So my entrepreneurs, PR pros, communicators, marketing professionals, journalists, mom, whoever is listening to this. Don’t forget that titles aside, you are human First, take care of yourself. Reflection for there’s more than one way to the finish line. I’ve actually been a big time believer of this in business for quite some time. But motherhood has reinforced this for life. If you’re trying to get to the number 10. For example, you can go one plus one plus one right all the way up to 10. You can do five times two, you can do 20 minus 10. There are a lot of different ways to get to the ultimate end result of 10. Someone might prefer or just be better at multiplication, while others prefer more basic addition and subtraction. Right. In parenting. Some people will bottle feed, others will say breast is best. Whatever path you choose, you not only have the right to choose, but it is okay if it is different from others. Remember that too, for your neighbors, your colleagues, your friends, if someone is doing something different than you. That’s their right to. You can grow a business through advertising. You can also grow business through organic PR efforts. You can land an article in vogue yourself or your PR consultant can land it for you. If you’re searching tirelessly for the answer to growth, just stop. There is no one right way. If you want to learn a whole bunch of different ways go ahead and binge the show.

And that is my fifth and final reflection for today. Whether you think you can or you think you can’t. You’re right. I’m going to say that again. Whether you think you can or you think you can’t. You’re right. Our mind is the most powerful tool for growth that exists out there. Thus, never neglect mindset. Thank you guys sincerely so much for listening to season three of the show.
