It’s almost impossible to ignore the impact social media has on small businesses today, especially in the days of pandemics and social distancing. Customers want to be able to connect and engage with their favorite brands and businesses. And with over 3.6 billion people using social media, creating a social media strategy for your business is a must.

If you’re like most small business owners, you want to “keep up with the times” and have a competitive edge with your online presence. Is it possible to keep up with the marketing efforts needed for social media without breaking the bank? The answer is yes!

In this article, we’re sharing our favorite social media tools to use as a small business owner. You can create an effective social media marketing strategy with affordable social media tools that allows you to save time, connect with your ideal audience, and prioritize growing your business.

Canva Shot

One of our favorite FREE design tools to create graphics for our social media campaigns is Canva. Canva is an online design program that is perfect for beginners or your more advanced designers. If you want to create Facebook ads, memes for Instagram, or pins for Pinterest, Canva has the templates you need to make designing a breeze. Even using the free version of Canva gives you access to a massive library of design assets, royalty-free images, and fonts.

Flick

Whether you’re new to Instagram or you’ve been on there for ages, you know hashtags are the most important aspect of the platform. If you don’t have tens or hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram, can you reach your ideal audience using the big hashtags like #instagood and #photoofheday? The chances are, it’s not likely because hashtags are highly competitive. Instead of using these large hashtags for your Instagram strategy, you can focus on similar hashtags with low and medium competition, allowing your posts to actually be seen by new Instagram users.

But, how do you know which hashtags to use, what the competitive rankings are, and which ones are actually being seen? Enter the amazing tool, Flick. Flick is an in-expensive, super safe hashtag search tool that allows you to keep track of your hashtags in hashtag banks and can tell you which ones your posts are ranking for, so you can keep using the ones that rank, and lets you know how many times they get searched for a month. It lets you set up hashtag banks, so if you’re posting different types of posts, you can easily copy and paste those from that hashtag bank directly into your social media scheduler or to the social media platforms themselves. And it’s only $10 a month!

Later

If you dread or stress about posting on social media every day, something needs to change. Having a social media presence shouldn’t take up all of your time and isn’t something that has to happen right in the moment. You have a business to run, and you should prioritize your time to focus on the growth of your business, not what to post on social media. There are tools out there that allow you to pre-plan your posts and schedule your posts out automatically, so you can focus on what’s truly important in your business.

Later is one of our favorite scheduling tools for Instagram because of its drag and drop visual scheduler, Linkin.bio feature, and Instagram story scheduler. You can also use it to schedule your Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn posts! One thing to note is Instagram doesn’t allow you to pre-schedule your Instagram stories, but if you get the Later app on your phone, you can pre-schedule in the app, and it will alert you when it’s time to post to Instagram manually. The free version of Later is limited, but you can get started with a paid plan for as little as $15/month.

E Clincher

Suppose you’re looking for something to create content, schedule posts in advance while communicating with your audience, and managing your brand awareness. In that case, you might want a social engagement platform like Eclincher to get the job done, all in one cloud-based platform.

Eclincher allows you to post to Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Analytics, Pinterest, and so much more. One of our favorite features Eclincher has to offer is the All-In-One Smart Inbox. It allows you to see all of your social media interactions in one place! If someone comments on your Instagram post, tweets you on Twitter, or sends you a message on Facebook, you can see it all right there in the Inbox without having to log in to any of the platforms. They also have fantastic analytics reports, whether you want a report on your competitors on Instagram or want to analyze the results from your social media campaigns. It has everything you need all in one platform, starting at $59 a month.

InShot

Inshot

Do you scroll through your social feed wondering how people make these super cool videos for Tik Toks, Instagram Reels, or Youtube Shorts, wondering what their high-tech secret weapon is? Well, the secret is out, and it isn’t as high-tech as you might think! It’s Inshot! Inshot is a FREE phone app that allows you to change the speed of your videos, trim or merge your video clips, and add filters, music, stickers, and text, all without leaving the app. Using Inshot has been a game-changer for our video editing and even lets you choose the size of your Canvas, so you can make your video fit perfectly for the type of post you want to do, whether it’s for Youtube, IGTV, Tiktok, Reels, or even stories.
